Shimla
Situated in the north-west Himalayas, Shimla, the capital of Himachal
Pradesh is alos called "Queen of the Hill Stations." Spread across
12 kms along a ridge, Shimla is magnificently claded in dense forests of
pine, deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. The place is famous with tourists and honeymooners for its

Shimla Travel (Air/Rail/Road) Information
Shimla is well connected with other parts of the country through air and
land. Vayudoot services connect Jubbor-Hatti with Kullu, Chandigarh and
Delhi. Delhi is in turn connected with Culcutta by Indian Airlines flights.
Jagson Airlines has also flights from Delhi to Shimla. The nearest Railway
Station from Shimla is Kalka (Narrow Guage). Kalka is well connected to
major cities of the country. Regular bus services connect Shimla with
Chandigarh, Kullu, Manali, Delhi, Mandi, Pathankot, Ambala, Chail, Dehradun
and many other cities. Taxis are available here as the main local transport.

Jakhu Temple : Situated at a height of 8000 ft , Jakhu
Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, near the highest point of Shimla ridge.
Jakhu Hill offers an appealing view of the town and of the snowcapped
mountains of Himalayas, surrounding it.
Christ Church : Situated on the Ridge is Christ Church,
which is the second oldest church in Northern India. It has a very majestic
appearance and inside there are stained glass windows which represent faith,
hope, charity, fortitude, patience and humility. Christ Church is a place
all visitors should spend some time in.
